Stack Smashing

A cyberattack based on stack buffer overflow, a technique used to execute malicious code on a device. The attacker overwrites variables, pointers, or return addresses to take control over a vulnerable application. A successful attack allows a third-party script with the rights of the cracked application to be run in the system.
